Hi, I believe HUHA stated that 40 pigs and 3 dogs were saftey removed and now live in the Wellington region. What has happened to the rest of Stu's pigs?

Hi Sandra, I think I might be able to shed some light for you. Huha purchased an undeveloped block of land in the Haywoods, Wellington a few years ago so they could create a sanctuary for animal: such as these pigs. At present they have some paddocks developed for pigs (with the appropriate fencing wire) as you can see in the latest update. I can see Stu's pigs are being temporarily being housed in there while they develop an appropriate pen for these new pigs. This land is quite hilly and it will be quite a big task to fence this special facility but with everyone's support another amazing feat of kindness will be achieved. I totally appreciate allieving Stu's concern, I have seen pet pigs act like dogs - my concern is are they going to be maintained at what is existing or currently in pig or are they going to just run wild together and keep on increasing in numbers or are they now going to become in the long run a commercial option - how is this going to be managed? For the welfare of the existing pigs and the mental health of Stu who is already suffering the loss of his favourite pig/dog.

Thank you for asking! We have made plans and will share when we can. I have provided an update on the page. 100% of donations are going towards logistics, fencing, shelter, transport and food.
