Shave for a Cause: Donate to help build safe spaces for our LGBTQIA+ community in Aotearoa

Kia ora whānau, as some of you may know, over the past year, I've been growing my hair with the intention of donating it to Freedom Wigs NZ, an amazing organization that provides wigs made from real hair for individuals dealing with medical hair loss.
However, given recent events of hateful speech towards the female, trans and non-binary communities, I've decided to also hold a small fundraiser for InsideOut, a national charity dedicated to creating safer environments for LGBTQIA+ youth. They offer resources, workshops, and support for anything concerning the rainbow community.
My aim isn't to reach a specific monetary goal, but rather to offer an opportunity to contribute to the creation of safer spaces for our LGBTQIA+ community in Aotearoa. I plan to shave my head on April 21st and will keep the donation period open until the following Wednesday, April 26th.

Mōrena! Donations have now closed and I just wanted to put out a massive shout-out to you all. I am super passionate about raising awareness for both Freedom Wigs NZ and InsideOut and the generous support has been overwhelming and heartwarming. We officially hit $1k which is way beyond what I had thought possible so thank you all deeply for your contribution. All donations have now been directly transferred to InsideOut and my hair posted to Freedom Wigs. I hope you have a beautiful weekend and hey maybe I've inspired a couple of you to grow those locks and donate them yourself! Aroha nui, Lucy Angel x
