Sheryl Dale runs the Wharf 2 Wharf for Vayla

$1,215 of $1,000 goal
Given by 19 generous donors in 9 weeks

I'm running the 25km Wharf 2 Wharf from Orapiu to Matiatia in support of a Wombat Chair for Vayla Petersen on January 16th, 2016.

Auckland

Vayla is 6 years old and suffers from Cru di Chat syndrome as well as Bronchiectasis. These conditions together mean Vayla is often hospitalised with chest infections and has trouble meeting developmental milestones.

Vayla loves to be mobile but at times her ill health and tiredness mean she cannot walk or gets very wobbly and has falls.

A Wombat Chair will help to reduce Vayla's reflux and vomiting as well as well as being a safer chair that can’t be tipped over. Being able to wheel Vayla from the table to the bathroom and around the house will conserve Vayla’s energy and save her Mums back.

The chair will cost over $6000 so we need the community to dig deep!

Sheryl Dale's involvement (page creator)

Children are my passion, and having been given the opportunity to fundraise for Vayla while running the Wharf to Wharf, is a tangible way of supporting Vayla's family and the wonderful work that the Jassy Dean Trust do for the families of Waiheke Island.

I have never run the 25km and this will prove to be a real challenge, so the opportunity to support Vayla will provide extra motivation to complete the event!
