Fundraising for The Cerebral Palsy Society
Nationwide
For the month of September Sidekick is setting ourselves the challenge of 10,000 steps a day, fundraising for the Cerebral Palsy Society NZ
We have set ourselves the lofty goal of fundraising $20,000 across our group of 8 offices and over 60 staff. All the Directors are proud to support this cause and encourage you to join up & get involved.
This is a cause that means a lot to many at Sidekick as our Sidekick Timaru Director - James Swaney’s son Alex lives with Cerebral Palsy. James and his family see the fantastic work the Cerebral Palsy Society does in New Zealand, from providing funding for transport & physios to advocating for people living with Cerebral Palsy in New Zealand. Cerebral Palsy is a group of neurological disorders affecting movement, balance & posture (in varying degrees). There are over 10,000 people in New Zealand living with Cerebral Palsy.
Sidekick has set up a Givealittle page that raises funds directly for the Cerebral Palsy Society. All you have to do to get involved is set yourself a goal for each day in September (e.g. 10,000 steps, 10km a day biking), share that goal with your friends/family/clients and get them to sponsor you to achieve your goal. They go to our Givealittle - Sidekick Steps into September - Givealittle to make their donation, get them to note who they are sponsoring in their comment so we can keep track of individual amounts raised (if you are setting yourself a personal fundraising goal).
We're halfway through Steptember! 16 September 2022
We're now halfway through our Steptember challenge! Our entire group has now done over 5.6 million steps so far, with our top stepper averaging 17,500 steps a day! We've raised over $2k for the @cpsocietynz but we're still hoping to raise more. If you can spare a donation it's going towards a vital cause and will help motivate our team to keep the steps up throughout the second half of the month🙌🏃♀️
