Riding 385km in the Central South Island for multiple charities
Timaru, Canterbury
We are a team of five riders greatly supported to participate in this fantastic charity ride by Silver Fern Farms Pareora.
We are currently in training to complete a round trip through the Mackenzie, Waitaki, Waimate and Timaru Districts by cycling from Timaru-Tekapo-Kurow-Timaru over a three day Charity ride covering 385km. The first day of riding begins on the 17th Feb with the final day the 19th Feb and all for charity. Sponsorship/donations would be greatly appreciated for this event. Money raised goes towards South Canterbury Hospice, YMCA, Graeme Dingle Foundation, South Canterbury Child Restraints, Heart Kids, Creative Corner Early Learning Centre, Family Works and Whalan Lodge.
To ready ourselves we are averaging 150-200km per week in training so we can achieve our goal of completing this ride and at the same time raise funds for these great community serving charities.
Continuing to Ride 3 February 2022
Hi All. As you have probably heard, under the current traffic light system, the Charity Bike Ride has been unfortunately cancelled for the first time in the rides history. With saying that, there has been a lot of training rides and km's put in and the committee have come together and rolled out a plan for two day ride from Timaru on the 17th and Point on the 18th. Each ride will be approx 120km and Team Silver Fern Farms and other riders will push on with these rides as the people involved at the Coal Face with these Charities don't get the choice of putting life on hold and need our support/your support to raise funds through our rides and your donations.
Thank you Anna for you support and donation, much appreciated.
