Otautahi Roller Derby League are skating the height of Everest on 28 June to raise funds for the relief efforts in Nepal.
Canterbury
The people of Canterbury understand the fear and struggle that come with the experience of earthquakes and the rebuilding afterward. But while our recovery hasn't been straightforward, we have been lucky to have access to resources and infrastructure that are more robust than those in Nepal. We feel that after being helped so generously ourselves, we can't stand back and not help people in a situation far more serious than ours.
So we are asking for sponsorship to skate the height of Mount Everest. We will be skating 170 laps of a standard roller derby track on 28 June to raise funds for Nepal in association with NZ4Nepal, whose page this one links to. Please donate generously and help us raise money for the relief effort.
Otautahi Roller Derby League is asking for donations to skate the height of Mount Everest. Skaters will be doing this either individually or as a relay. We know the ongoing support needed in Nepal is massive, and we have decided to help by using the sport we love and that has helped us so much so give help and hope to others.
We did it! 29 June 2015

A special thanks to those that came to donate and support our skaters last night. We raised $450 in donations, which we can add to this page's total that currently stands at $932.
Excellent effort everybody!
