Auckland

Satay Noodle House (SNH) is a family owned small restaurant business located in Papakura, South Auckland. Through my platform of SNH, I wish to use it as a vehicle to promote positivity, kindness and goodwill. Those that have been following us for a moment will know what we like to associate ourselves with and what we like to do for the local community.

I really want to use this occasion (My 30th Birthday) and my platform through SNH to create change in this world. I’d love for ya’ll to help me celebrate it. I don’t need nothing, I just want to give to those less fortunate. I wish to raise funds for an organisation that strives to break the poverty cycle by providing free healthcare & education for children, (especially girls) in my native country of Cambodia. 🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭

I’ve chosen a NZ based charity - The Cambodia Charitable Trust - that is volunteer driven, so EVERY CENT of their donations goes towards achieving their objectives and mission. It’s a trusted charity that I’ve fundraised for previously and theres no CEO on a seven figure salary! Check them out at www.cctnz.org.nz. 😊 They build schools, classrooms and water tanks etc, educate teachers and provide stationary, bikes, and uniforms etc.

Their mission is to break the poverty cycle in Cambodia - through education. They focus on vulnerable children in the villages of Cambodia, kids that wouldn’t normally have access to education, boys that would normally go towards slave labour and girls that could be shipped off in the sex trade. Education can give these children a brighter future. They’re big on giving free education and healthcare for children from the streets, who would normally never receive any of it. I love that they have a heavy focus on females. Families in Cambodia that can’t afford to send all children to school will often send their son to school instead of their daughters as its perceived that they have a higher chance of success. Girls usually then follow the path of early marriage and child bearing, thus limiting their opportunities.

We can literally change lives here!! We can literally help kids from the village, give them access to healthcare and education - things that we can take for granted being in NZ but things that these kids can only dream or wish they had. Together, we can give kids an opportunity. Access to basic healthcare, an opportunity to wear uniforms, to make friends, and to play with others. These are all things that are a given to NZ kids. My dad would walk 10km to school - 2 hours! He didn’t have a bike, but he was hungry to go to school as most kids didn’t get access to education.

I see this as one collaborative project from SNH and our supporters to team up, come together, and all chip in to something special. You can give as little or as much as you want, collectively I’m sure our funds raised will go such a long way in Cambodia through this birthday fundraiser and this charitable organisation. Even $2 can buy a textbook for a child there, every dollar counts. Thank you. Be sure to check us out on Facebook and Instagram for updates @sataynoodlehouse. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I have personally contributed $500 to get the ball rolling, but remember:
