Yeah, that's me; I'm the goblin. With bugger-all training but a whole lot of misguided confidence (much like Samwise and Frodo on their journey to Mordor, but with less lembas bread) I've decided to do the Tongariro Crossing in November, and thought it would be a great opportunity to raise a little money at the same time. My charity of choice is the New Zealand Multiple Sclerosis Research Trust. Scientific research is universally underfunded, even though it is the best way to try and find successful treatments, or even cures, for a multitude of conditions. I have many people I love who are affected by any one of a number of neurological conditions, but as I set this up during Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week (Sept 9th-15th) I've decided they will be the benefactor of any funds I raise. Times are tough however, and if you can't spare any pingas that's totally cool; I'm also accepting high fives and words of encouragement. Let's hope I don't end up needing LandSAR...
