Sophie's Journey to 21km

  • Hurdle to 21km...

      22 November 2021

    Hey friends and family,

Firstly, I want to say thank everyone for the continued support for my journey to 21km - the results have been overwhelming and I am so grateful to everyone for donating.

I have had a wee hurdle in my training, after being discharged from the hospital at 4:30am on Friday morning with what started as 'COVID-like symptoms', we have since learned I have been hit with viral meningitis.

Although this means I won't be able to complete my 21km as planned this weekend, it brings more opportunities! Not only to raise more funds and awareness for the hospice but to train harder when I have recovered to smash the 21km!

If all the stars align, I am hoping to complete my race on New Year's Eve - but no pressure on this date as my health is most important during this time! I'll keep you all posted as to when I am back in my running shoes and when the race day is near!

Thanks again for all of your kindness, care, love, and support! I'll be back on my feet in no time! For now, let's hit $5,000 for Waipuna Hospice #runforrich🌻
