With much gratitude to you all, this is the result. I am now my own emoticon 🤓.

A big thank you to Karunajoti for her caring attention to my head as she weilded the scissors and clippers, and to those who turned up to witness the event.

As of this morning, we had gone a bit over $4,000, a great result for the centre renovations still to be paid for.

Perhaps others will be so pleased with the result (centre renovations AND hair), that more will be forthcoming. In any case, thank you all.

Sthiraratna's appointment with the hairdresser

Greetings, and thank you for your interest in and donations to this unusual fundraising activity. With direct donations included, we have so far raised a little over $3,000 of the $4,000 target, significantly contributing to the costs of the Auckland Buddhist Centre renovations.

I am pleased to announce the date and time of this momentous (for me) event. Karunajoti has kindly agreed to preform the "ceremony" (?) this Saturday, August 9, at 9am at the centre. So if you want to make sure the deed is done (for otherwise how will you know?) come along and cheer us on.

You would also be welcome to stay for the first Saturday morning meditation in the new shrineroom at 10am if you wish, as well as look through the centre after that, at what your contribution is helping to fund.
