Kia ora tātou,
Last year I biked all of Ōtautahi's bus routes. This year I want to do a little more exploring, so I am planning on biking all 230 streets starting with H!
To name a few... Heyders Rd (Spencerville), Hubbard St (Wigram), Hutcheson St (Sydenham), Heathfield Ave (Fendalton), Horizon Heights (Moncks Spur)...
Why am I doing it? I have seen first-hand modern slavery and extreme poverty in Kolkata. I am doing this as I believe no person should have to bear the consequences of this.
Why this challenge specifically? I actually want to do some exploring, and go down some of the various random culdesacs or main roads starting with H. Also, I live on a street which is sometimes abbreviated to HH (H's everywhere)
When am I doing it? Once my uni exams are finished (after 8th November) and throughout the rest of November.
PS: Your support will be greatly appreciated. I've set a donation target of $1150 - that's $5 for each street :)
PPS: For you pedantic people out there, "streets starting with H" includes streets north of Summit Rd and within CCC boundaries with the first word starting with the letter H. Also, if a street name has two words starting with H then I'll be doing it twice!
Updated my goal 19 October 2026
A little typo entering this in :)

In Kolkata, a lot of kids don’t get to enjoy just being kids. Poverty and modern slavery don’t leave much room for fun or joy in their lives
Thanks so much :)
Thank you very much Janet :)
