Pledge funds to Stroke Foundation if stroke survivor does Half Ironman.

Nationwide

Less than 3 years ago, I had a stroke and spent nearly 8 weeks in hospital. Bed ridden and unable to walk or even use a wheelchair, things were pretty hard at first. Week by week, month by month things got better, to the point where I want to celebrate my 3rd year of survival by doing the Taupo half IM.

It's not just a celebration. I want to raise awareness of the fact that your brain can achieve remarkable things if you stretch it and don't give up. If you've had a stroke - your life might be different, but it still can be rewarding!

I don't want you to give-a-little for me, I want you to give-a-little for other people that have suffered the same fate as me, and need help literally getting back on their feet. Stroke Foundation NZ help people cope with the huge adjustment in their lives that can result from strokes.

God bless, and keep challenging yourself everybody!
