Auckland

I am walking with the YWCA Auckland Round the Bays team in support of gender equality and the fantastic work that YWCA Auckland does to build a fairer future for all.

Every dollar raised goes towards community programmes which offer self development opportunities and life-skills that are aimed to make the biggest impact on the futures of young women, their families and the wider community.

Our programmes promote Leadership Development, Economic Independence, Safe Spaces, and Wellness.

Anna Beard's involvement (page creator)

All women are 100% worth equal opportunities, safety, respect, recognition, equal pay, and fairness. YWCA Auckland works hard everyday to make this a reality (why isn't it already reality? It's 2018!) which is why I'm walking Round the Bays on Sunday March 4th.

And I do this acknowledging my immense privilege as a home-owning, white, hetero, cis-gendered woman earning a decent crust and raising a child with a partner who shares an equal load. Women of colour, LGBTQI women, women with disabilities, and poor women bear the larger burden of this inequality. I walk for you.
