Cycling in the Tour of New Zealand for TEAR Fund to rescue children from sex trafficking. 700km in 7 days!!!
Nationwide
There are millions of people who will go to bed in slavery tonight. Some will even die there. You can be a powerful weapon in the fight against this inhumane system of exploitation and abuse.
I'm in a team of four pedalling the length of the North Island in the Tour of New Zealand April 11-18. That's 700 km of sweating in unforgiving terrain, giving everything we've got, and pushing our bodies to the limit.
My legs and those of my team mates will spin a total of 700,000 times over the seven days of the Tour. According to the US State Department- that’s the number of people trafficked across international borders every year, of which 80% are female and ½ are children.
So my legs will be spinning a pedal 140,000 times over the seven days. This will hurt but the pain is incomparable to the pain caused to kids (The average age of people who are trafficked for sex is 12!) locked up and raped many times a day.
Every one of my 140,000 pedal strokes is for them. Please support my ride and together we could make our world a safer and happier place by helping TEAR Fund in their rescue work.
