Cycling in the Tour of New Zealand for TEAR Fund to rescue children from sex trafficking. 700km in 7 days!!!
Nationwide
I’m in a team of five cyclists who will be pedalling the length of the North Island in the Tour of New Zealand from April 11 – 18.
The legs of these five people will spin a total of around 700,000 times over the seven days of the tour. According to the US State Department – that’s the number of people trafficked across international borders every year, of which 80% are female and ½ are children.
So, my poor 50 year old legs will be spinning a pedal 140,000 times over seven days. This will obviously hurt! But this pain in incomparable to the pain caused to kids (the average age people are trafficked for sex is 12!), locked up and raped many times a day.
Every one of my 140,000 pedal strokes is for them. Please sponsor my ride and help make our world a safer and happier place by helping TEAR fund and Nvadar in their rescue work.
