What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi is one of the major branches of the traditional Chinese martial arts. Although originally conceived as a fighting art, in the modern day it is practiced as a graceful form of exercise and an overall health system that promotes mindfulness, decreases stress and anxiety, helps with balance and muscle strength, improves flexibility, improves sleep as well as copious amounts of other health benefits, far too many to name!

Dave Thew has been practising Tai Chi for approximately 37 years and and well and truly is a master of his craft! He is now passionate about sharing his knowledge with others and helping to give back, to as wide of an audience as possible, all the many benefits he has gained from the art form!

Dave's World record attempt, which is being held at the 'Alpine Sports Center' in Temuka, will see him complete over 29 hours of continuous Tai Chi movement/ exercise, a mammoth effort which we are sure he can conquer, all for an amazing cause!

All funds raised will go directly to the 'Cancer Society, Canterbury-West Coast Division''s bank account.

This is an awesome event to raise money for an extremely worthy cause, so any support possible would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you ☯️
