We’re running the Auckland Marathon in memory of our Nanny to raise funds for Alzheimer’s NZ. Every step for those living with dementia.
Auckland
This year, we’re running the Auckland Marathon in honour of our Nanny, who passed away on the 5th of April.
Nanny didn’t pass from dementia, but she lived with it in her final years, and it changed everything for her, and for my the family. It’s a slow, quiet thief of memories and connection. Seeing someone you love not recognise the people or places that meant the most to them is something we wouldn’t wish on anyone.
We want to do something positive in her memory, and for the many families going through this now. That’s why we’re lacing up and running for Alzheimer’s New Zealand. A charity that supports those living with dementia and their whānau with care, resources, and hope.
If you can, we’d love your support, whether that’s through a donation, a share, or just a kind word. Every dollar raised helps provide better care, more awareness, and stronger support for people affected by dementia across Aotearoa.
Let’s run with purpose. For Nanny. For others still fighting.
With love,
T&L❤️
Marathon Eve! Let’s go🏃🏽♂️ 1 November 2025
It’s the night before the big day! Tomorrow, Tegs will be lining up to run the Auckland Marathon after months of early mornings, long runs, and determination to make it to that start line.
Lewis won’t be running this time due to his injury (most of you already know the story there!), but he’ll be out on course cheering her on and supporting from the sidelines. (And drinking all the beer)
The support so far has been amazing thank you all so much for every message, donation, and bit of encouragement along the way. It really means a lot.
Tomorrow’s all about crossing that finish line and celebrating the effort that’s gone into this journey. Wish her luck she’s got this! 💪🏽🏅
