Taranaki

Hello,

My name is Adym Brown... And Ive decided to run a half marathon for Charity and here is why:

Taranaki Animal Protection Trust (TAPT) is a not for profit trust that rescue, rehabilitate and re home kittens and cats. This can be kittens that are neglected to cats that are just no longer wanted.

(All kittens and Cats are desexed, microchipped and get their first vaccination before being re homed)

I have no way of describing to you what these kittens and cats go through so instead I am going to tell you their stories: Below are kittens that I have fostered...

- Chomper: Ginger Male Kitten - Found on a ladies lawn so she took him into the vets. He was just 3 weeks old when he was found. Chomper had an upper respiratory infection and pneumonia, then and there the vets told us to say goodbye to him as his chances to survive the night were very low. We were devastated for him...How ever, little Chomper survived the night, although he would have to be on medication until after he was desexed. He fought everyday to stay alive. Chomper now lives with his forever home and has made best friends with a black Lab.

- Parrot: Tabby and White Male Kitten - Parrot was found on a farm in Taranaki, unsure on wether he was dumped or had a stray mum. When I got him he had a nasty sneeze and had a huge infestation of worms in his lungs. After many trips to the vets we managed to get his sneezing under control and we also got on top of that worm problem he had. His name became Parrot because every morning he loved to come and sit on my shoulders while I had my morning cup of tea. With TLC he became the most affectionate and appreciative kitten you would ever meet. He now lives with the most amazing family where he an older brother cat who gets to boss him around.

- Cassie: White and Tabby Female Kitten - Cassies case is a real hard one to have to even say. Cassie was found in a drum of oil... Yes thats right.. OIL... wether she was placed there or jumped in herself we are unsure. When she was found she was fully covered in oil and after a few baths we found that she was actually predominantly a white kitten. The hard part about this is that due to her drastically attempting to clean herself while being stuck in the oil she would pooh out oil for the first couple of days which was so awful for her. She is also currently going through a process where she will lose most of her hair due to it burning from the oil but eventually it should all grow back and she will feel beautiful again! Cassie is an absolute cuddle bug and always has to be right beside you for cuddles. She has a long road ahead but she will pull through and she cant wait to find her forever family!

- Geoffrey: Black and White Kitten Male - Geoffrey and his four siblings were locked in a bathroom, no food, no water and an over used litter tray. They were locked in there with their mum who was not able to feed them anymore because she simply had no more food herself. Geoffrey and his family were skin and bone, you could see every bone in their bodies to the point where we had to slowly introduce food back into them. They were trouper, they fought to be alive every single day. They are continuing the road to recovery although not all of Geoffreys siblings have survived the fight. RIP to our beautiful Ashley... you were too good for this world.

- Gus: Tabby Male Kitten - Gus was surrendered to me as a very lethargic kitten who had his whiskers cut and/or pulled out. Immediately I took him to the vets where he got fluids and antibiotics. Gus was under supervision for the first few days in hopes that he gets more playful and less lethargic... which he did! YAY! Gus is now in his forever home with a lady who fell in love with him from the moment she heard his story and yes his whiskers grew back and he is a very handsome little kitty.

Everyday we are at the vets, trying to save another life... Any cent can help us save a life.
