Participating in FIT TO FIGHT CHALLENGE (July 2022)
Auckland
Over 8 weeks, I'll be taking part in Boxing Alley's 'Fit to Fight' challenge, training like a boxer and raising funds for I AM HOPE before putting everything to the test in a final body-sparring event.
In 2020, in Aotearoa 119 young people died by suicide and it is estimated another 3,100 tried to take their own lives. While Government agencies are doing their best, some kids are stuck waiting up to six months to receive the counselling they so urgently need.
I AM HOPE is a youth and community focused support group run by The Key to Life Charitable Trust, promoting positive attitudinal societal change in schools and communities up and down the country, and funding private care and counselling for young people stuck-in-the-mud on waiting lists. I AM HOPE connects kids with mental health counsellors and practitioners in their region or online, so they can get timely support, without the added stress of how to pay the bill.
