Participating in Climb 4 Youth 2022
Waikato
Please join Jeremy and I (Team Duckbutt) in supporting the Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato for Climb 4 Youth2022!
The name 'Duckbutt' has arisen from a long running feud between Andrew and the daughter of Jeremy - 4 year old Leah.
Together we will be representing the Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato – by overcoming climbing
the Hakarimata Kauri Loop Track (3km) 7 times in 4 hours. It's a route we have often run as part of the Hakarimata Ranges but with an elevation of around 225m it's going to be a tough 4 hours to do it on repeat!!!
Key questions to be answered include; will Andrew's 100km old man hip come into play as he hauls 100kgs of weight around the track? Will Jeremy's many years of Hamilton Old Boys rugby come back to haunt him in small niggles? What craft beer should we procure for the post match? and finally, how will Anna and Sarah cope with 6 kids between them as their husbands desperately sign up to a charity run to escape fatherhood for 4 hours???
If we navigate all this the outcome is that we support Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato to deliver action packed values based programmes to our tamariki and rangatahi. Every $1 we fundraise and invest provide benefits of $7.80 back into our communities.
They did it! 30 May 2022
What a day!
A total of 70 climbers came together on Saturday to complete between 1 and 8 laps of the Hakarimata Upper Lookout (via Kauri Loop) Track within 4 hours. Through this, our second ever Climb 4 Youth event achieved:
👏 A total of 284 return trips (852kms)
👏 Over $23,000 in fundraising so far (over $179,400 of returns for our community!!)
👏 Proof that we can overcome life’s obstacles
A big tino pai rawa atu to all the 2022 climbers, volunteers, donors and business supporters. All of this would not be made possible without your continued support.
We are also hugely grateful for the number of generous event-specific sponsors: Kennards Hire Te Rapa, Studio 386 Screenprint, Countdown Supermarkets Bridge Street, Mobicomm Limited, PrintRun, H3 Group NZ, Bivouac Outdoor Hamilton, and Stuff Waikato.
We are still trying to reach our fundraising goal, so please donate and ensure we can continue empowering our youth through our programmes!
