We Did It!

Thank you so much for all the support and generous donations. I'm sure it will help make a difference to the 3 charities we chose to support. The run was more challenging than we expected as half of it was on a twisty, gravel road with a steady climb up a valley following a river. It was very peaceful and scenic and the fastest time on the day was 01:23:13. Therefore, James did extremely well considering it was a tough course for his first half marathon to finish with a time of 01:46:22. He ran his wee heart out and got a lot of positive encouragemnet from other runners on the course and high fives so he loved every minute of it. Steve then followed with a time of 01:52:38. Last but not least Donna had a time of 02:12:03. We all really enjoyed the challenge and the rest of our holiday in Nelson. Donna's aunty Muriel loved butterflies so whenever we see one we know she is watching over us. At the end of the race a beautiful, big, red and orange butterfly nearly flew into Donna and then it sat above us in a tree watching us for a while so we are sure our efforts got Muriel's seal of approval!
