Fundraising for I Am Hope Foundation- Youth Mental Health
Hamilton, Waikato
I will be playing tennis for 12 hours straight on Sunday 3rd November 2024 from 7am until 7pm in Hamilton to raise funds for the I am Hope Foundation led by Mike King. I am a semi broken down tennis player with two bad knees, a bad hip but I will get through these 12 hours!!
The I am Hope Foundation has one goal - positive societal attitudinal change. Our youth in New Zealand struggle with distressing self-talk and overthinking, leaving them feeling isolated and alone. They provide free counselling in our schools and a range of other programmes and resources that have a huge impact on the wellbeing of our youth.
I have personally lost a number of ex students to suicide and I have felt the impact of other amazing people that have ended their lives because of the challenges they were facing. New Zealand continues to have one of the highest rates of youth suicide in the world.
Every dollar I raise will go to the I am Hope Foundation to assist with the mental health programmes they provide in schools and the wider community. If you have $1, $5 or more to spare for this worthwhile cause, I would be extremely grateful for your support. If you are a business, and can afford a bit more, I would also be really grateful.
Update on Tennis Fundraiser 24 February 2024
Thank you to everyone that has donated via Givealittle....very blessed. For those that want to play tennis with me on the day, the flyer is being produced right now and I will be putting that out soon.
People pay $25 for a 30 minute slot during the 12 hours I will be on court.
Thank you to Waikato Tennis Trust for the donation of a court at the Waikato Tennis Centre for the 12 hours and making that part so easy.
