  • Everest Challenge Update!

      5 April 2024
Posted by: The Breeze Tauranga 95.8

    We are nearly there!

We would like to extend a massive thank you to all of our supporters for the 2024 Mount Everest Challenge!

Hopefully recovery from the hard yards is going well, with lots of deserved snacks and relax time for all of our local legends who took part in the challenge itself, which wrapped up on the 1st of April.

Together, with a whopping 119 participants, and 57 teams, we have raised $46,170 for our legendary local Surf Lifeaving Clubs in Omanu, Papamoa and Mount Maunagnui!

    But we're not done yet...

As usual, our donations will remain open until the 14th of April - and we are very excited to see just how far we can get in that time! - Any additional support in advocating for fundraising from within our local community is very much appreciated during this time.

For pics of the challenge, giveaways, and further updates, join our social media communities on Facebook and Instagram!

Congratulations on reaching the close of week five!

We are well underway now, with five of seven weeks under our belts, lots of tired muscles, and a community of awesome people all coming together to support an amazing cause!

This week was brought to us by Body in Motion Health and Encore Pilates, who hosted a live Pilates Session at Dinner in the Domain in Papamoa last night - let's just say The Breeze team has some serious mobility work to do!

If you are interested in trying Pilates / Yoga or Breath-work for yourself - comment on our Facebook post to win a voucher worth $140 for Encore Pilates here: https://www.facebook.com/mounteverestchallengenz

That's up to five classes, absolutely free!

As of this morning, we have just ticked over 31k in fundraising efforts - THANK YOU!

We would love your help in encouraging donations towards our anniversary fundraiser, with just over two weeks left to go, we are excited to see just how much support we can provide our deserving charity for our 10 year anniversary challenge! So far so good nothing has fallen off and the knees feel good my main concern when joining this challenge. I have no idea how many people are doing it but seeing some familiar crazy faces plus the regulars that climb all year round. Everest is 8849m Mauao is 232m ... so nobody made a mistake 38 times works out... (just checking) . Everyone is heading to touch the star compass at the summit to log another climb... 38 seems a long way off cause it is.

Drinking a lot more water and eating a lot more food and sleeping a lot harder.... all good things.
