Fundraising for Cholmondeley Children's Centre
Canterbury
I have a crazy dream…
A dream to run across Australia in just 30 days.
Starting July 1, I’ll run from Perth to Sydney, 127kms a day.
Why, you ask?
I grew up in humble beginnings, raised by my mum in a single-parent home, living week to week. Times were tough.
From a young age, running has been a big part of my life. My mum often said I ran before I walked.
Someone believing in me changed the course of my life. At 12 years old, while competing at the Victorian State Championships, I was spotted by legendary Australian running coach Neville Sillitoe, who saw something in me, offered me a sporting scholarship, and fundamentally changed my future.
I now see running as a vehicle to inspire others, I want them to dream crazy dreams. Especially children. I want them to believe in themselves and what is possible, regardless of their circumstances.
That belief sits at the heart of The Dream Run 26 and why I'm raising funds for Cholmondeley Children's Centre.
Seeing the incredible work Cholmondeley does in the lives of children inspired me to support this great cause. For over 101 years, it has provided vital respite care for children in need during times of family crisis, giving them a safe, supportive place to simply be kids again.
But I can’t do it alone.
I’m asking for your help. Every donation helps turn The Dream Run 26 into something much bigger than me. Together, we can help create real impact for children who need it most, and show them what is possible when someone believes in them.
Injury update 31 May 2026
Yesterday marked Day 2 of the simulation.
It was meant to be another 130km day, but at 100km Murray and I made the call to pull the pin and get on top of some achilles pain that I felt at 88km.
Since then, the pain has continued, and it’s clear it could be more than just a niggle. I’ll be getting an MRI scan to understand exactly what’s going on.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed. But if this journey has taught me anything, it’s that sometimes the smartest thing you can do is listen to your body.
A massive thank you to everyone who came out and ran alongside me over the last two days, donated to Cholmondeley Children's Centre, followed along, or simply sent a message of encouragement. The support has honestly been incredible and I’m so grateful for every one of you.
We’ll get the Achilles sorted, learn what we can from this, and keep moving forward.
Adapt or die. And here we are adapting!
Thank you so much Amos!
Thanks so much David, I think so too!
