Always up for a challenge ... Who doesn't like punching people in the face after a long day? So doing it for Charity? It's a no brainer ...
Canterbury
Passionate about fitness, I have been boxing for about 3 years. Grand-daughter of an ex boxer, I was raised watching bouts and fights on TV (even wrestling but that is a conversation for another day !)
Recruiter by day in the Trades and Labour industry, I have had 4 amateur fights, 3 wins over the past couple of years.
I have always been competitive and when I was asked to put my body on the line in the name of charity, the only possible answer was YES!!
Canteen is a great charity and I have had the opportunity to work with them on and off over the past few years, seeing the difference they make in people's lives, not only sick kids but also their families. Cancer doesn't discriminate, it doesn't care about the color of your skin, about how much money your parents have, about your religion, gender or sexual preferences. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer and also I am amongst the lucky ones that have had people fighting and winning their fight against it, it is a stressful time for everybody involved.
Helping this charity is for me the opportunity to help these people a little bit as well ...
We have been sponsoring Canteen for about 4 years at work (Hays Recruitment).
Now that I am getting in the ring for charity, I thought it would make sense to fundraise for them.
Built for Battle, charity boxing event. 16 fighters are putting their body on the line to raise money for their chosen charity.
