The Front Steps Project

The Front Steps Project concept was thought of by a professional photographer from Boston, Massachusetts and due to the Coronavirus Pandemic like most photographers all work came to a halt. Her and a friend came up with the idea called "The Front Steps Project" designed to raise money for those that are less fortunate during these unprecedented times. While most families are in quarantine at home their children learning from home, parents working from home this is the perfect opportunity to document this very unique time in all of our lives.

After hearing about this concept I immediately thought of the Community I reside in and thought to myself this can work here but with a slight twist. Here in New Zealand, Covid-19 may soon be a thing of the past however the destruction it has left will be felt for many months to come. With the loss of jobs felt across the entire country new Zealanders will need all the help they can get.

Here's how it all works. There would be no charge for either myself or someone from the team to come out and take a photo of where you spent your days on lockdown with your bubble. Preferably on your front step and of course at a safe distance. Any and all donations raised will be directed to The Foodbank Project, Give a Bundle which is sponsored by The Salvation Army. Once a donation is received you will be provided a high resolution file of your family at no charge. To take it even one step further should you decide to have your image printed our local print shop has been kind enough to offer an 8 x 12 image for just $5 with free contactless local delivery and if that wasn't enough the print shop will take 50% from each print and donate it back to the charity.

I have a team of local photographers ready to take to the streets, we will be abiding by all the safe distancing measures that are in place and will more than likely not even have to come on to your property. We will only need 5 minutes of your time and will schedule around your needs. What a way for the community to come together and it's something that we can all look back on and reflect.
