Nationwide
A few mates are getting together to raise some money for youth work in neighbourhoods impacted by modern slavery and extreme poverty.
The idea is to have a bit of fun while we do. Hence Joyride, spreading the joy.
Inspired by the old birdman competitions growing up (📸 Murrays Bay Birdman Festival), we are gonna fly our bikes off the end of some jetty. Not sure how far we will get but it would be nice to raise awareness of the legend work of Joyya and ultimately help pay for a youth worker for a year.
We are passionate about communities and kids and believe in the power of good youth work. If you share that some of that passion, hopefully this Joyride is a good excuse to throw some money at bringing joy for kids who are often overlooked.
We are still figuring out details so will post updates here. But by the end of November we would have flown our bikes somewhere, somehow, someway!
We very much are open to suggestions, and also people joining in. More people, more fun, more networks, more money.
A youth worker for a year costs $10k. This is a big target, but even bigger bang for buck.
Here we go!

In Kolkata, a lot of kids don’t get to enjoy just being kids. Poverty and modern slavery don’t leave much room for fun or joy in their lives
