The "I Love Life" Challenge for Charity

Hi, I’m Phillippa. I’m a mum, wife, and friend, just an ordinary kiwi girl.

I got this crazy idea to throw myself into the freezing waters of the Pacific Ocean on Winter Solstice this year, just for the hell of it and because it scared me to do so!

Then I thought, well, why don’t I see if I can make some money from doing this then give it all away!

Why would I want to do this you may ask and why this charity in particular? Short answer is I’ve ‘been there’, I have loved ones who have ‘been there’, losing all hope and not seeing the point in all this ‘living’ thing.

I got through it and my loved ones got through it too. We didn’t do it on our own though, we had help, and we’re all here today because of that help.

The Key to Life Charitable Trust and I Am Hope has your back. I have your back and I’m gonna prove it by ‘feeling the fear and doing it anyway!’ You see, I found one of the things that gave me hope was to develop a sense of adventure with and for life.

So I dared myself to do this mid-winter swim thing that I’ve seen others do over the years and I dare you to pay up or front up! 😊.

I’ll be at the Southern end of Pauanui Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula at 11.11 am, Monday the 21st of June 2021 if you want to join me. If you can’t, then I would love to see you take up my challenge from your own place of residence, AND to donate to this worthy cause.
