I’m running 100km on March 7th to raise funds for Mitey and support young people’s mental health.
Dunedin, Otago
Growing up, especially during my teenage years, I faced tough mental health battles. At the time, I didn’t understand what I was feeling or how to cope. I didn’t have the tools, language, or support, so I carried a lot of it on my own.
Looking back, I often think how different things could have been if I had learned these skills earlier. Knowing how to understand emotions, ask for help, and manage hard moments can change everything, and every young person deserves that.
On March 7th, I’ll be running 100km at the Caledonian Ground in Dunedin. 250 laps of a 400m track. I’ve never done anything like this before, and I know it will be brutal physically and mentally.
I’m choosing to go through this because it will be worth it. The discomfort I feel is temporary, but the impact on young people lasts far longer. I’m running to raise funds for Mitey, an organisation that helps equip young people with the mental health understanding and tools I wish I had growing up.
Together, we can create real, lasting change for current and future generations, so fewer people face their hardest moments alone.
