Emergency Services Relay Run for Mental Health. "It takes a team, You don't go through it alone"
Hawke's Bay
As emergency service personnel we see the effects of mental health in our society on a daily basis. Often this constant exposure to emotional and tragic events causes our own to suffer from mental health issues as well. This event is a way for us to raise funds, awareness and to help those suffering from mental health and break the cycle.
Members of the Tohiariki whanau participated in the inaugural event last year and thoroughly enjoyed the event and the kaupapa behind the event. We have put the call out and we have whanau from Auckland, Hamilton, Wairoa, Napier, Hastings and Invercargill coming to participate and support this event. We have whanau members who are current frontline Fire Fighters and we appreciate the work that all First Responders do.
We will represent our grandparents Temana and Doris Tohiariki as it is through them that our team connects, and come together in a positive way to spend the weekend together all while starting and maintaining our oranga/wellbeing.
