Tokoroa tragedy claims 7 lives of beautiful family of 9

On Sunday the 28th of April 2019, a horrific motor vehicle accident on SH1 has occurred on the last day of the school holidays.

8 out of the 9 beautiful Poutawa-Luke-Karauria family were travelling home from Napier when their van and an SUV collided, claiming the lives of Dad, Mum and 5 of their 7 children, just a mere 20 minutes from their home in Tokoroa.

The sole survivor of this accident is their 9 year old boy who is currently being treated in Waikato hospital. The 2 remaining boys and their extended families will need all the support and guidance through this nightmare.

ACC will provide some financial support to the family. Due to the magnitude of this accident there will be many costs now and in the distant future that collectively we can ease some of that burden. I know that so many people want to help in some way so here is your opportunity to do that.

So come on Aotearoa put your hand in your pocket and give a little, Lets show these boys and their whanau that New Zealand is with them and here to support them through this tragedy.
