We only have two days to go in the Tour of NZ and our riders have now cycled over 600 km.

It was huge day today, and it started in one of NZ’s most beautiful places just outside the Chateau, in the Tongariro district. It was extremely cold, especially when the intense wind gusts pushed them around but each rider gave it all and made it over the finish line. Our young gun Matt Noland taking out first place for a 2nd time was also a highlight. The determination to complete this challenge along with the camaraderie amongst the team has been incredible to witness and I feel so blessed to be a part of it.

We have a few photos up on our Facebook page, head to: https://www.facebook.com/unicornfoundationNZ

  • Half way there!

We spent a very comfortable night at home in Auckland only to be woken up by the sound of thunder and lighting and the alarm clock signalling that there was no turning back.

6:30am start to get out to the start line at Tuakau by 7:30am. The arctic conditions saw everybody bring out their full wet weather cycling regalia only to be thwarted by the race director postponing the start by 45 mins. As it turned out a very good call as the sky cleared to the south and we set off into clear blue skies.

What we thought was going to be cold wet day turned out to be a fantastic day of cycling through pristine Waikato farmland.

The overall fundraising has been amazing, and the total amount raised so far for Unicorn Foundation NZ is over $85,000 ! Outstanding result so far, but please keep spreading the word, it would be fantastic to reach $100,000 to put towards bringing the NET Scan to NZ.

Once again, we really appreciate your support - thank you!

At Tane Mahuta with Malcolm Leggett today on the second day of the tour. Unicorns going strong. Great camaraderie. Malcolm have a moving account of Unicorn Foundation NZ goals and how important it is we reach our target to fund a new treatment program here in Auckland.

Thanks to everyone to date who has supported my ride.

    Hi everyone,

A quick update to let you know all the amazing Unicorn riders set off from Cape Reinga early this morning. It was a long ride with lots of hills but they all went really well. I can report there were lots of smiles all around when they crossed the finish line. This photo is taken at the Cape Reinga lighthouse just before they set off. Such an amazing bunch of people all helping Unicorn Foundation NZ. Please keep checking in with us for more updates or follow us on Facebook to see more photos.
