Cycling +3000km for the Auckland Medical Research Foundation

Auckland

Cancer is a horrific disease that has impacted almost every New Zealander either directly or indirectly.

Chris Bird and Tom Burgess are raising funds for the Auckland Medical Reseach Foundation who help financially support research in New Zealand and in this case, Cancer research, by cycling +3000km from Cape Reinga to the Bluff, on beaches, roads, trails and paths, with no support vehicles. This challenge will likely involve long hours in the saddle, punctures, rain, mud, sweat and a will require a healthy dose of humour!

Every dollar raised goes straight to funding research and will help in this ongoing battle with the diseases. Tom's family has been directly impacted by Cancer - he lost his mother... and his mother in law

There is no doubt that when the hills are long and the legs are tired, the reminder that they are doing this for the good of others will (hopefully) get them through.

Well done on completing the ride Tom. I hope the last leg from Mossburn to Bluff was not too boring. Simon M
