Participating in Joy ride. Get on your bike to support kids in India.
Canterbury
During the month of October, I'm committing to cycling Dyer's Pass every weekday to raise money for Joyya. These funds will go towards supporting young people in some of the poorest and most vulnerable communities in West Bengal.
While many of you will think of me back a few years ago as a fairly fit and competitive person, I have struggled since leaving school with my relationship with the sports I used to do (biking being one of them). A lot of my worth used to be in sport and it caused me to neglect a lot of other parts of myself.
Because of this, I have done no consistent exercise for a long time. I essentially quit almost everything and my physical health has slipped.
Me doing this challenging is not only going to be physically challenging but also emotionally challenging. But it is worth it! I have been over to Kolkata and I care deeply about the Global Work that Joyya is doing over there.
So please sponsor me on my adventure and also spread the word as much as possible about the awesome work that Joyya does.
To all you donors thanks so much 2 November 2021
Well, the first Joy ride has come and gone and together we have raised over 20K.
Amazing ah.
That means because of your generous donation kids in really vulnerable communities will have festivals to go to, sports gear to share in the parks, craft gear to create with and fun events to participate in making their colourful communities a bit more fun and exciting.
So on behalf of those communities thank you. You all dug deep and made this world just a little bit better.
Well done.
John
