Help kiwi kids with down syndrome get the help they need with speech therapy.
Canterbury
People with Down syndrome face huge challenges every day, just trying to share a joke with their friends, or explain what they need; to tell the teacher the answer or ask their little sister "are you ok?" is a challenge. Adrian and his mate Matt are taking up a challenge too. They are running the Christchurch marathon to raise money for speech and language therapy for children with Down Syndrome. The funds they raise will go to the UpsideDowns Educational Trust, a charitable trust dedicated to helping families get specialized speech therapy.
The UpsideDowns Education Trust has already helped our son, Mikey, get specialized therapy for two years and in that time his language has improved hugely. The biggest change is that now Mikey can tell stories! He loves to talk about his favourite movies! Adrian and Matt have been mates since way back and Matt happily accepted the challenge to run the marathon and support Adrian and I and our family.
They did it! 5 June 2016
Congratulations to Adrian and Matt! Thanks for all you amazing hard work running and raising funds. You guys are awesome!
