This cause is very close to my heart, so I am doing the highest skydive in New Zealand at 18000 ft to raise money for this charity on the 17th April 2025
My chosen charity HELP works to support survivors of sexual abuse – and crucially, to prevent sexual abuse from happening. Hopefully the money I raise will help survivors and help to prevent abuse happening in the future.
The Ministry of Justice recently estimated that more than one in five (23%) New Zealand adults experience sexual assault in their lifetime.
The Ministry of Justice estimates that 92% of sexual abuse crimes are not reported to Police.
The Ministry of Justice suggests that if only 10% of sexual violence is reported to Police, for every 100 victimisations only three results in a perpetrator being charged, and only one results in a conviction.
