Supporting UNICEF's emergency response for children and families affected by the devastating Venezuela earthquakes.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Last week, my home country Venezuela was hit by two devastating earthquakes.
More than 1,700 people have lost their lives, over 10,000 have been injured, and thousands of families remain missing or displaced. Many communities are now without homes, clean water, electricity, or access to urgent medical care.
Watching the impact on families and communities from the other side of the world has been heartbreaking. Like many Venezuelans living abroad, we've felt a deep sense of helplessness, but also a strong desire to do something meaningful to support those affected.
We've decided to do what we can from here in Aotearoa and have created this fundraiser to support those affected.
All donations will go to UNICEF's Venezuela Earthquakes Emergency Response. UNICEF is working alongside local authorities and humanitarian partners to provide healthcare, clean water, sanitation, nutrition support, protection services, and psychosocial care for children and families affected by the disaster. UNICEF has already delivered emergency supplies and continues to scale up its response to reach the most vulnerable communities. [unicef.org]
UNICEF estimates that 1.8 million people, including 680,000 children, now need humanitarian assistance following the earthquakes. [unicef.org]
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. 💛
Ngā mihi nui,
