Vodafone Foundation/Red Cross Pacific Tsunami Appeal

$215,020 donated
Given by 772 generous donors in 6 weeks

We are raising funds to support NZ Red Cross relief efforts in Tonga and the Pacific following the January eruption and tsunami.

Auckland

As we have all seen in the upsetting scenes on the news our Pacific neighbours in Tonga are facing significant damages and ongoing trials caused by the eruption of Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha'apai and the ensuing tsunami. Vodafone and Te Rourou, Vodafone Aotearoa Foundation are joining forces to support relief efforts being delivered by Red Cross in Tonga and across the Pacific.

Vodafone and the Vodafone Foundation will both match donations up to $200,000, so for every $10 donated, $30 will go to help those affected, up to $600,000.

These funds will be used to support Red Cross to provide families with emergency supplies of food, water and hygiene kits. These are vital given much of the water and food supply has been polluted by volcanic ash. Shelter tool kits, tarpaulins, blankets and other essentials are also being distributed.

We understand not everyone is able to give, but if you can, every little bit counts and will help to make a difference. Mālō 'aupito.
