'Walk with a Purpose' raising funds to provide bunkbeds, bedroom furniture and linen for a new family home in Uganda, housing 8 children.
Halswell, Christchurch
On Saturday 23rd May, Daniel and friends will be 'Walking with a Purpose' raising funds to make a significant difference in the lives of 8 orphaned and abandoned children, who have been rescued into the care of Fountain of Peace Children's Foundation in Uganda.
At present funds are being raised towards the construction of a new family-based home, for eight children at the Fountain of Peace Children’s Village. This home will be named Otago House. Sponsored walkers will be raising funds towards the children’s bedrooms in Otago House; requiring bunk beds, mattresses, wardrobes, furnishings and linen which will cost around NZ$6,000 to purchase for two children’s bedrooms. Our goal is to raise $3000 towards these costs, for one of the bedrooms initially.
Daniel and friends will walk 10 km from Aidanfield Christian School to Hillview Christian School which will take them around 2 hours. This represents the distance many children in Uganda walk to and from school each day, often on an empty tummy.
There will be morning tea, hot chocolates and participation certificates, at the end of the walk. Come and join us for the 10km walk, gaining sponsorship for your efforts or sponsor a walker for their service in supporting international mission work.
Daniel and friends are passionate about making a difference and would be so grateful for your support in sponsoring them.
