Walking for Amnesty International
I'm walking 1,000 km (620 miles) of the Camino de Santiago to raise $2,000.00 and awareness for Amnesty International NZ.
InternationalI recently lost my job in London, and subsequently my right to live and work in the UK.
This is a perfect opportunity for me to take the long route home to New Zealand and tick off some things from my "To-Do" list. With plenty of time up my sleeve I've chosen to walk the longest route of the Camino de Santiago in Spain, from Seville to Santiago de Compostela - approximately 1,000 km.
My seven week pilgrimage is also a great opportunity to raise money and awareness for Amnesty International NZ. Even in this era of Covid-19 we can too often take for granted the rights and freedoms others fought hard for us to enjoy. Many around the world are still struggling to attain those basic Human Rights. Amnesty International maintains the fight to give a voice to those who do not share the same privileges as you and I.
Help me raise funds for this important organisation as I walk the length of Spain on my way home.

Day Three of Camino Three: O Logoso to Muxia 1 November 2020
Gosh. Be careful what you wish for... I was looking for a slightly more extreme Camino, with a more challenging climate and landscape. And that's exactly what I got today. I also managed to get soaked to the core and became very squelchy as I moved through the day. My destination did not disappoint though. What a dramatic spot this is. Now, to find me some fresh seafood...
