Walking for Amnesty International
I'm walking 1,000 km (620 miles) of the Camino de Santiago to raise $2,000.00 and awareness for Amnesty International NZ.International
I recently lost my job in London, and subsequently my right to live and work in the UK.
This is a perfect opportunity for me to take the long route home to New Zealand and tick off some things from my "To-Do" list. With plenty of time up my sleeve I've chosen to walk the longest route of the Camino de Santiago in Spain, from Seville to Santiago de Compostela - approximately 1,000 km.
My seven week pilgrimage is also a great opportunity to raise money and awareness for Amnesty International NZ. Even in this era of Covid-19 we can too often take for granted the rights and freedoms others fought hard for us to enjoy. Many around the world are still struggling to attain those basic Human Rights. Amnesty International maintains the fight to give a voice to those who do not share the same privileges as you and I.
Help me raise funds for this important organisation as I walk the length of Spain on my way home.

So there you have it... The final 35km to Santiago de Compostela. Which, if I'm perfectly honest, were harder than I wanted them to be. I wanted a meditative stroll, but got a painful slog instead. Kittens made everything a little cheerier (as of course they always do) and seeing the towers of the Cathedral finally coming into view as we entered the city. WOW. What a huge thrill. A big shout-out to Daan for days of encouragement, fun, endless banter and more beers than I'd like to count.
Hello Hello. Thanks heaps for this. Much appreciated. And yes to those beers when I'm back in the Naki.
Thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the journey.
Hey Buddy. Cheers for the donation. I'm glad you've enjoyed the story along the way... And yes, definitely up for a beer when I'm back in NZ.
Thank you. 👍👍👍 I'm looking forward to catching up very soon. 😘😘😘
Hey Hey. Thanks so much for your very generous donation. I'm happy you've enjoyed the journey with me. And yes, you should definitely walk a Camino one day...
