Walking for Women 2020/21

  • Final Update

    Hi all,

If you've been following my journey on social media, you'll know that I've sadly had to stop hiking due to injury. While I did complete 1000km, which is 1/3 of the trail, I'm disappointed that I haven't been able to complete the entire length of the country in one go. My knee injury is serious enough to require surgery, so there is really no way I can continue this season. I still hope to complete Te Araroa, but it will now be done over the next few years.

Many, many thanks for all your support and generous donations! The fundraiser is currently sitting at $11,750 which is just amazing! I know this money will be a big help to Women's Refuge and the women and children they support - thank you once again for getting behind such a good cause.

    Kind regards,

    Amanda

I’m now in Hamilton which means I’ve completed over 750km which is 1/4 of Te Araroa! It’s been a challenging but rewarding few weeks. I’m enjoying catching up with family while I walk through the Waikato. Thanks for all your support!

My TA trail journey has begun! I’m now three days in, with 70km behind me. 90 mile is long but the end is in sight! Many thanks for all the donations :)

Hi all! Thanks to everyone who has donated so far - the fundraiser has just passed $5,000 which is amazing! I’m three weeks away from beginning the hike, and have been getting my pack ready to start conversations as I walk down the country. Hopefully people will be interested in what I’m doing and will want to support it - I’ve got a QR code and the web address on my pack to make it easy for them!
