Hi Zoe,
I love what you are doing!
I am from a company called GetHomeSafe based down in Dunedin, NZ who specialise in Welfare Monitoring. We are asking people who are completing journeys in order to fundraise for charities how they are keeping track of their journey and if they are sharing a live track of it?
We are in the process of designing a platform for events like yours to share and open a channel for donations. I was wondering if you were going to use anything for your event or if you had any feedback on what you would like to see or share with the public while you do it?
Thanks,
Sophia

Hi Sophia,
Lovely to hear from you. So my plan is to have a Garmin InReach Mini which is a GPS device where people can track my journey. I do have a Facebook and Instagram page specifically for my walk, however I don't plan to share my live tracking, as I am doing the walk solo and for safety reasons don't want people I don't know seeing where I am, so I'll just be using this for family and friends to track my progress. For others following my journey I plan to just update my pages occasionally when I get service.
The idea around a platform sounds great!
I hope this answers your question? If not, then please just ask more/clarify what you'd like me to answer.
Take care, Zoe
