Fundraising for Westpac's Chopper Appeal 2020
Wellington
The 2020 Westpac Chopper Appeal is upon us!
While Covid-19 has made it a little more difficult to fundraise this year, we won’t be held back - just as the Choppers always have our back, we’ve got theirs!
Lockdown has been a strange time for us all, while some of us felt inspired to get active with virtual fitness classes, throwing iron around the garage and running more laps of the block than ever before… some of us found our dressing gowns to be suitable attire for all days ending in the letter ‘y’ and successfully reached triple digits in the number of Netflix episodes viewed in a single month.
Regardless of which lockdown persona resonates with you most, it’s time to band together for a good cause via our Multisport Chopper Challenge!
You can use it as an opportunity to either show off all your fitness gains from the past two months or finally have a reason to step out of your slippers.
We’re aiming to collectively travel the approximate distance the Chopper does in rescues per week- 1000km, via any means of your choice whether that be paddling, running, walking, swimming, rowing, even dancing - all by the end of May!
We want to raise $5,000 together for the Chopper in the Welly region.
How do I get involved?
1. Pledge your distance and mode of movement (email Claire.Fairhead@westpac.co.nz or Bjorn.Agnew@westpac.co.nz to do so)
2. Challenge your friends to do the same – anyone can participate
3. Share your commitment and the link to this page with your friends and family to encourage donations
4. Get moving! :) You have until May 31st to complete your km’s
5. Track your movement via the Strava group – https://www.strava.com/clubs/665494
On top of raising funds for the Chopper, getting active and creating some healthy competition with your mates – Life Flight are also offering a merchandise prize pack for one lucky Appeal superstar in the Welly region!
We are the Welly Westpac Team, collecting funds for our local rescue helicopter.
