Riding for our chopper country!
Otago
Living in Opoho, Dunedin occasionally we hear that familiar thumping sound in the air of a helicopter passing overhead. Usually it is a black chopper heading to or from the hospital. Saving someone's life!
Two years ago I was surprised by a loud thumping outside my office window on the mine site and the bushes were dancing wildly. I run outside and saw the big black bird touching down. My heart sank, in my mind this equated to one thing. We've hurt someone...badly! Fortunately it was an emergency exercise drill that convinced a passerby that there was actually an emergency and made the 111 call.
Personally I've never needed a ride. But if I do I want to know they have the resources they need to get the job done! That's why this year I'm riding in the 15th Anniversary Westpac Chopper Ride and I'm looking for great people like you to support me!
The Chopper Bike Ride is back for its 15th year – and we need your support to make it the biggest one yet.
