In participating in this challenge I want to raise funds in order for Diabetes NZ to fund their various activities which cover education, advocacy, support and research in relation to improving the lot of diabetics and turning the tide in relation to this rising epidemic afflicting New Zealander’s. Every dollar you contribute will help.

As many of you will know I was diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic nearly 20 years ago. Type 1 Diabetes is caused by an immune system malfunction while Type 2 Diabetes is usually caused by lifestyle choices around diet and a sedentary lifestyle. I’m supporting Diabetes NZ because they do a fantastic job in raising awareness of a disease which is reaching epidemic proportions and advocating on behalf of its sufferers.
