The Auckland Rugby Union and its staff are walking to raise funds and support the NZ Rugby Foundation.

The NZ Rugby Foundation, established in 1986, works to ensure that the message of safety first is front of mind for all rugby players, while also providing comprehensive support to all seriously injured rugby players financially and emotionally for life. Their long-term goal is to always stand alongside Rugby’s seriously injured players to help build a thriving future for them.
Since 2013, they have paid out over $5.1 million in Grants and assisted over 118 VIPs (Very Injured Players)
Their dedication and commitment to our sport are unwavering, and they need our help to continue to offer that vital support.
Our Auckland Rugby Staff will be walking 25kms on Friday 28 November 2025, starting at the Pakuranga Sailing Club, and taking the coastal route to the Viaduct in downtown Auckland
Help us support them in raising funds for our VIPs by giving generously.

To everyone who donated and supported us - the staff at Auckland Rugby are proud to announce that they completed their walk on Friday. Twenty-two Auckland Rugby staff set out walking what turned out to be 27 kms each in the end. Putting that into perspective, we basically did a relay to Palmerston North. Every we step we took was a step for a great cause so thank you for your support
