Built from lived experience, we support people and whānau while raising awareness of brain injury & CTE. Stronger together for everyone 🤍💚
Nationwide
The Billy Guyton Foundation was originally started by Shane Christie in honour of his close friend Billy Guyton.
Following the loss of both Billy and Shane, the foundation continues their legacy – raising awareness of brain injury, CTE, and mental health, while supporting those facing similar challenges.
Across Aotearoa, too many individuals and whānau are living with the long-term effects of head injury, often without the understanding, support, or resources they need.
This foundation exists to change that.
Our kaupapa is to provide support, build awareness, and help grow a deeper understanding of brain injury and CTE – including what Billy and Shane experienced – so others don’t have to face it alone.
Funds raised go towards supporting individuals to access care, as well as contributing to awareness, education, and a better understanding of the realities behind these conditions.
We are a small, community-driven foundation built on lived experience, with a focus on making a real difference.
Every contribution, big or small, helps us continue this work.
Stronger together for everyone 🤍💙💚
The Billy Guyton Foundation was started by Shane Christie, and today continues on in support of others facing similar challenges.
After losing both Shane and Billy, our focus is on supporting people and whānau who are dealing with the long-term impacts of head injury and the struggles that can come with it while also helping grow understanding of what they went through.
We’re here to stand alongside people, create awareness, and make sure no one feels alone in it.
Every bit of support helps us keep showing up for those who need it most.
