Billy Guyton Foundation

Billy Guyton Foundation

Built from lived experience, we support people and whānau while raising awareness of brain injury & CTE. Stronger together for everyone 🤍💚

Nationwide

The Billy Guyton Foundation was founded by Shane Christie in honour of his close friend and teammate, Billy Guyton.

Following the heartbreaking loss of both Billy and Shane, the Foundation proudly continues their legacy by raising awareness of concussion, traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), and the far-reaching impact these conditions can have on individuals, whānau, and communities.

Across Aotearoa, too many people are living with the long-term effects of brain injury without the understanding, support, or access to care they deserve.

That’s why this Foundation exists.

Our kaupapa is to ensure that no one has to face these challenges alone. Through education, advocacy, practical support, and raising awareness, we aim to improve understanding of brain injury and CTE while helping others access the care and support they need.

Every dollar raised helps us support individuals and whānau, contribute to education and awareness initiatives, and work towards a future where brain injuries are better recognised, understood, and supported.

We are a small, community-driven charity built on lived experience, compassion, and hope. Together, we are working to create lasting change for future generations.

Stronger together, for everyone. 🤍💙💚

More about us

The Billy Guyton Foundation was started by Shane Christie, and today continues on in support of others facing similar challenges.

After losing both Shane and Billy, our focus is on supporting people and whānau who are dealing with the long-term impacts of head injury and the struggles that can come with it while also helping grow understanding of what they went through.

We’re here to stand alongside people, create awareness, and make sure no one feels alone in it.

Every bit of support helps us keep showing up for those who need it most.
