Manawatu / Whanganui
Our quality counselling strengthens individuals and families by increasing: resilience, coping skills, sense of belonging, hope, meaning and overall well being. We enable low income & vulnerable community members access to professional affordable care. Clients work at their own pace to achieve their goals. 40% of our clients are male & 20% are Maori
Since 1990 we have seen over 6000 clients! In 2019 we saw 199 clients. Feedback from clients: 98% say they are satisfied or very satisfied with the service; 94 % say they achieved all or most of their goals. 40% of our work is with vulnerable families or youth. Currently, we have four qualified and four student counsellors.
During these unprecedented times we are available and accessible to our local community to support them through these difficult and turbulent times.
For 35 years, Living Well Counselling Centre has provided accessible mental health support to the Horowhenua community. We offer heavily subsidised counselling to minimise the barriers to quality therapeutic support. With no government funding, we rely entirely on donations to bridge this gap.
We serve close to 150 clients annually across more than 1,000 sessions, strengthening individuals, couples, and families by increasing resilience, coping skills, and wellbeing. Currently, 85% of our clients require additional subsidies beyond our already discounted fees.
We're inclusive - everyone is welcome regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, orientation or identity. Our diverse clients range from children to those in their 80s, including individuals, couples and whānau groups.
Your donation directly funds counselling sessions for vulnerable community members who would otherwise go without support. Every contribution prevents crises, strengthens families, and builds community resilience.
