The Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust undertakes restoration projects that show real conservation benefits.
Nelson / Tasman
The Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust has the vision that "The forests and beaches of Abel Tasman are once again filled with the birdsong that awakens and delights visitors. Kia whakaoho te mauri o te Ata-hapara. Kia rongo, Kia Kite, Ki te reo koro tui o Te Tai tapu"
The Abel Tasman National Park is a scenic gem, a playground for locals and visitors, but its wildlife is suffering. The birdsong that once rang out is now muted, and invasive weeds are spreading. The Park needs help to restore its health and the Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust has the ability to use local enthusiasm, resources and expertise to address local priorities. With your assistance the Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust can undertake projects that show real conservation benefits.
The Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust aims to protect and enhance biodiversity and improve the visitor experience in Abel Tasman National Park. Working closely with the Department of Conservation and Project Janszoon and the local community we undertake local projects for local benefits.
