AdaptMTB works to promote and develop adaptive mountain biking activities for people with a physical disability
Nationwide
AdaptMTB has been founded to help people with physical disabilities access and enjoy adaptive mountain biking as a sport and recreational activity.
We run activities to attract participants into this exiciting activity, and support them with knowledge of where to ride, adaptive technoligies and equipment.
We are working to ensure that New Zealand mountain bike trails can be rated for accessibility and we support main stream mountain biking event organisers to include adaptive categories.
#AdaptMTB is dedicated to enabling people with mobility impairments to participate in Adaptive Mountain Biking.
From School Project to Inspiration: Dylan's Epic #AdaptMTB Fundraiser Ride 14 June 2023
At Crankworx Rotorua 2022, we had the pleasure of meeting a young rider named Dylan when he visited our expo site. He had just completed a school project on adaptive mountain biking and our charity, #AdaptMTB, and came over to say hi and meet our crew of adaptive riders.
Well, Dylan got back in touch a week ago to let us know that he was planning a fundraising event to raise money for us and the work we do in supporting adaptive mountain biking in Aotearoa!
And over the weekend, he did it! Young Dylan completed his 3-hour fundraiser ride, covering a mammoth 21.63 km of mountain bike trails at West Auckland’s Woodhill Mountain Bike Park. You can read the full story over on our website www.adaptmtb.nz
A huge NGĀ MIHI NUI to Dylan for his mahi! And thank you to all those who supported him! His efforts not only provided crucial financial support for our charity, but it also served as a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness for adaptive mountain biking and promote inclusivity within the MTB community.
